Background:

Tasmanian Tiger (Thylacinus cynocephalus) was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times, native to Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea. Hunting and habitat destruction are the main causes of extinction. The last known thylacine died in Hobart Zoo on 7th September, 1936.
